Privacy
Telemerase handles only the data Typing Derby needs. There are no accounts and no advertising or analytics cookies.
1. What we store
- When you save a record: nickname, country, typing language and mode, animal, typing record (speed, accuracy, typos, race trace) and time
- A one-way hash of your IP address to prevent abuse (we never store the IP itself)
- Your result card image for sharing (created after you save; public via the share link)
2. Used briefly, not stored
Your IP address is used only to guess your country (looked up in an IP-to-country table on our own server) and for short-term rate limiting. It is not stored.
3. Stored only on your device
Your nickname, country, personal bests and sound setting live in your browser’s localStorage; only the nickname and country are sent, when you save a record (item 1). The interface language is kept in a cookie (ui), used only to pick the language of the start page. You can clear all of them anytime.
4. Purpose and retention
Used only to run leaderboards and ghost races and to prevent cheating. Records are kept while the Service runs and deleted on request.
Visits, races and shares are counted only as daily totals that cannot identify anyone.
5. Third-party services
- Hosting: Railway (cloud servers)
- Fonts: Google Fonts — your browser connects to Google to load fonts
- Share buttons (X, Facebook, LINE, WhatsApp, Weibo, KakaoTalk) open those services; KakaoTalk sharing loads the Kakao SDK
We share no data with any other third party.
